Q1What do your friends think is fine to wear or do at work now, and what still crosses a line? Tell us about something one of them did that got a reaction, especially from older colleagues.47 responses
I think putting on a coperate shirt and trouser is fine for office work activities. Most of my friends think wearing jeans and shirts are fine at work. What still crosses a line is ripped jeans and very revealing outfits. One day, one of my friend wore a hoodie to the office and an older colleague jookingly asked if he was going to a music concert. He also advised him never to put it on again.
super short skirts and low cut tops. my friend wore a lot of makeup according to her colleague
My friend think people should wear appropriate clothes for work. For example, one time my friend was wearing top that was showing her cleavage, and older colleagues told her she should not wear something like that at work.
My friend wears clean sneakers and a polo to work, which is fine, but hoodoes or earphones in client meetings are a no-go. Once, he wore a baseball cap to a review, and an older manager pulled him aside for a quick chat.
It is fine to wear corporate wears that are decent. No matter how iopen minded the generation has become, you still have to be decently dressed to work. When one shows up in an attire that is not considered decent, they are thought of as unserious.
i think modesty is key, outfits that don't reveal too much. Darker colours are acceptable and bright colours are not. Smart casual is still a thing but i would say the emphasis on smart and not casual is important
A friend wore sneakers in office meeting, we were okay but some seniors were shocked. They said they prefer formal shoes.
I feel like it depends on the work to be honest. I think wearing something like shorts would be controversial unless it was allowed. I think normally in most jobs there is a dress code and people are expected to dress as professionals. One colleague once wore his casual t-shirt and shorts look and was criticized.
Nowadays my friends are challenging the frowned-upon attitude towards piercings and tattoos and embracing the more modern attitude we have today. Their elder colleagues are still resisting this shift however
My friends think casual clothes and using phones during breaks are fine at work, but dressing too casually for meetings crosses a line. One friend wore ripped jeans to a meeting, surprising older colleagues who expected formal attire.
I tend to wear smart office clothing and some other people do too. However, there are a few people who wear low cut tops that get a negative reaction from older colleagues and the management team
They don't think it's appropriate to wear revealing clothes to work. One person wore loose trousers that resemble athletic wear and was told off by the boss for being too casual in the office
All my friends still dress professionally and none got a bad reaction for wearing anything inappropriate. None of my friends have crossed a line or done something inappropriate at work, but one has a colleague that got told off for using too much AI, especially as they are copyrighters. He was even reading off AI scripts during meetings, and is now on a personal improvement plan.
One of my friends has tattoos and somee of the older senior employees made remarks. Nothing awful but made her feel uncomforable.
One of my colleagues/friend's wears quite revealing clothes to the office - cleavage on show etc which can raise older colleagues eyebrows, despite our organisation stating smart casual as the office attire and she’s never been pulled up by management
One of my friend told me how she dresses more casual at work now, in line with company policy, but that older coworkers still choose to dress smarter.
the clothes that you should wear at work should follow the guidance given by your employer and you must act professional at all times. Crossing a line would be treating customers or clients with disrespect.
its fine to wear casual clothing as long as it is work appropriate i.e is not too revealing, too tight, gym wear etc. A friend of mine wore leggings to work which is looked down upon by older colleagues.
Arriving late definitely went down poorly with the higher ups. Most people i know wear smart clothes to work. There are defiinitely standard to maintain. Mostly its shirts and smart trousers
coming with black nike shoes for work does not sit well with the older colleagues and they would be annoyed if that happened.
A guy in my office wore a polo shirt that was sort of knitted and translucent, you couldn't see anything but it was slightly mesh style. It was quite fashionable but he got a lot of jabs about it all day. I think the men stick to shirts and trousers, even an unusually coloured trouser is enough to get comments.
My friends think that so long as the clothes worn at work and are appropriate and decent, one can still dress them as they go to work.
Smart or smart casual is fine. Trainers are okay but should be paired with smart trousers and top. jeans are only okay on Friday and light wash is not acceptable. Older colleagues can perceive dark denim to be unprofessional however younger colleagues find this to be smarter. One friend wore birkenstock naples and older staff found these very ugly.
Generally revealing clothes that are worn with the intention of comfort and coolness, especially for my women friends, is more accepted now than it once was. Ive never had a friend get a reaction for their clothing or actions at work.
Smart casual, jeans and trainers are fine. Older colleagues don’t like shoulders knees or toes being on show.
My friends thinks wearing trainers, very ripped clothes, and tatoos showing is ok. I think wearing a very ripped clothes and showing tatoos crosses the line because its a corporate setting. My friend has a giant lion tatoo drawn at her back and on this faithful day, she wore a backless top and a coat on bt, the AC in our office got faulty unexpectedly and made her remove the coat then boom, all eyes were on her and an older collegue reported her to the HR without even correcting her first.
Any clothes that are deemed as 'work appropriate' is fine. Anything brighter coloured or more extravanant isn't seen as acceptable. One of my collegues wore a bright orange blazer and got shocked reactions
Track suit is not good to wear to work. Needs to at least be smart casual
I think it's fine for them to just wear whatever they wear at home or when they go out with friends for a meal. Nothing overly formal, but also nothing too revealing. If there's anything too revealing, that might get a reaction.
You can wear anything as long as it's not revealing I've tended to find. Then again some women definitely don't follow that as a rule. Guys even wear shorts in our office.
I think people tend to dress a lot more casually and a “smart casual” office dress code is more common now than more formal workwear. I do find people can be a bit too “sexy” and I do see people wearing more provocative clothes like low cut tops and I’m not sure that’s okay. I think when working from home people can be a lot more casual, which is fine, but I know people in my office have been told off for wearing pyjamas etc on a zoom call
Its fine to wear appropriate clothes as in items that mostly cover your body. I don't know of any cases where a clothing item has crossed the line.
One of my friends wore a skirt that was shorter than knee length to work, she got a few stares from older colleagues
Some older colleagues think the young ones are out of order with a lot they do and how they wear certain things even like work ppe
I think my friends think it is fine to wear formal clothes and it crosses the line when they cause disruptions when it is not needed
A skirt that was short got a bad reaction from a friends work apparently. They asked her to go home and change before coming back in appropriate clothes.
Its fine to wear appropriate length clothes. Crossing a line would be wearing very minimal clothing. An older colleague seemed shocked when seeing others wearing a very short skirt
Casual clothes with no images that dont expose too much skin we think are fine, but we think its better to wear slightly more formal clothes such as grey straight legged bottoms. We have never had any colleagues say anything about our outfits
My friends think that it is ok to have corporate wear - wearing smart jeans and a top
Just casual wear mostly they don't like it when there is too much skin showing; thinks its unprofessional. They also think that being too touchy at work crosses the line
We are technically not allowed to wear trainers, but people still wear them and think it is fine; however, wearing shorts or a crop top would be crossing the line. A guy I am friends with at work got told off for wearing trainers for a few weeks, but after that no one bothered saying anything anymore.
My friends think that wearing trainers, jeans and more casual clothes to work is fine now, as long as you still look presentable. Things like inappropriate clothing, swearing or constantly being on your phone crosses the line. One of my friends wore a hoodie to the office and an older colleague commented that it looked too casual and unprofessional even though no one else seemed too bothered.
No reactions from older colleagues generally, maybe a small comment from one person about a friend wearing mis-matched socks
People think doing a minute of work unpaid is absolutley ridiculous. Even if it makes my life easier. I dont mind doing it but they are dead against it
My friends think smart casual is appropriate clothing for work, especially if you work in a professional or office environment. But they also believe it depends on the workplace. One of my friends brought in an energy drink and they were drinking it in front of customers/the public, their manager said it was fine for them to have that drink but it should be saved for lunch time or kept in the staff room rather than in front of public as it isn’t very professional. The manager was nice about it
In my previous work there was strict dress code (work uniform) which one lady constantly ignored, wearing revealing short pants. Everyone reported it because it was not only crossing the line but also dangerous due to the nature of work. At my current job, one lady constantly wear flip flops despite being told not to several times by others and even director themselves. We all disagree with her outfit, and she ignores everyone’s opinion.
Most friends think clean sneakers are fine, but a buddy wore ripped jeans and got reprimanded.by senior management
Q2How are your friends different at work from how they are with you? What do they show at work, and what do they keep for outside it? Why do you think they draw the line there?50 responses
My friends normally share their personal issues with me because they believed that I am a good confidant. They show more of professionalism at their offices and also aviod sharing intimate informations at work. They belive that business should not mixed with family or intimate affairs.
they keep their private life apart from work, like relationships
I think my friends are being themselves with me, they're showing me their true selves. At work, they are being professional, focussed and calm.
My friend is way more professional and buttoned-up at work than when we're hanging out. He keeps his personal life and unfiltered jokes strictly outside, mostly to stay out of office drama and protect his reputation.
My friends are more professional in their composure and speech at work than when we are outside. My work has various people from various cultures and background, so it is important to speak professionally so that everyone understands what you are saying and does not feel like they are the object of your conversation. This has happened to us once, and we were reported because someone felt left out or so in the conversation, so we know better now. It is also for the clients we receive.
i would say my friends at work dress modestly for the job and when they're out with me the fun side comes out like colours, revealing clothes, fun prints and fun outfits. Their style really shows when they're out out
At work my friends a re professional. They are more careful about their professional and private life. I think we all have that one boundary.
I think they are more serious at work which makes sense and they are more open to jokes outside.
At work they dont present a holistic view of their personalities, they restrict their senses of humour to topics that are pallettable because they know any form of expression that deviates from 'the norm' could and probably will be used against them.
My friends are more professional and reserved at work but relaxed and playful outside. They show responsibility and respect at work while keeping personal jokes and private matters for friends. They draw the line to maintain professionalism and protect their privacy.
I think at work, we are all friends so no topics are off limits. However, they tend to reserve deeply personal topics for outside of the work place
Work needs to be more professional and impersonal but still maintaining good relationships. With friends, they can make more inappropriate jokes or be more open about their true feelings
I think my friends are probably just more reserved at work, and maybe don’t mention super personal stories or details, and only share that with friends outside of work. I think this is to maintain the two separate.
My friends aree much more quieter and keep to themselves where at work. While at work it is a professional environment and they dont talk about their personal lives .
At work my friends try to maintain high professional reputation and aren’t fully themselves, similar to myself but outside work we can be silly and really come out of our shells
My friends act more professional generally at work. They get on with their job whilst, with me, they complain about their job or make a joke out of something they have to do at work.
My friends are a lot more professional at work, they act accordingly with their policies. They keep their relaxed nature for when we meet, but act normal when at work. they draw the line past personal friendships with work colleagues
They are more funny and goofy outside of work. Work is a place to be more restrained in those aspects of your personality, it is a place to be professional and well mannered.
People will usually have small talk whilst at work. However, most people are not the most expressive about their personal lives. Its more surface level stuff. This is because im sure they have friends outside of work to share this stuff with.
they share they daily life struggles but not the private secrets . and also the work life progress
I don't think they act that different in general, but there's certain honest comments and criticisms that are never made in front of senior staff. I think it's because you don't want to be seen as someone loudly complaining in front of everyone. Otherwise they show their personality, they talk about their personal life, they made jokes and have fun at work too.
At work, they maintain a state of professionalism with less social interactions. However, outside of work, they tend to joke around a lot and socialise even more.
They keep silliness and 'controversial' opinions away from work but will discuss these with me. It is probably not the best to talk about polarising topics at work, especially with older people as they are often set in their ways and not genuinely up for a discussion about these things.
My friends are much more critical of their employers when amongst eachother than they are to their employers face, largely because of fear of retaliation if they were to stand up for themselves against unfair treatment and poor working conditions.
They are more open to talking about their personal opinions of work outside of work especially when they are negative.
My friends are very too serious at work but trust me they are the unserious people i have known all my life outside work. The exhibit some attitude that makes me question myself if they are actually the same person at work.
Friends keep there personal lives private in the office. When we go out after work, they share more abour home life and outside of work plans
More professional at work and more likely to talk about work at work
They are definitely different, they show a more calm and reserved appearance when they are at work, like a quieter version of themselves, while outside they are very different, louder and have a larger personality. They draw the line here because their true personality isn't really professional, so could leave a bad impression to customers and staff.
They are slightly more soft spoken. They think more about what they want to say, and think before speaking.
Mainly my girl friends don't wear too revealing clothes at work.
I think people tend to keep their emotions to themselves a lot more at work to monitor how they are perceived as capable. I think people are also less willing to share their opinions and speak their mind, or use casual/foul language
At work you are more formal with what you say and usually think twice before saying something. Personally also more personal life is shared. It really depends on the topic with where the line is drawn. Some topics can be equally shared at work and outside in personal life.
My work friends and I are very open both in and out of work. The type of work we do keeps up bonded and close. There are no limits to conversational content. However with that said, if there are superiors present conversation will remain professional.
At work they are professional as that is what you are paid to do, after work they are more relaxed and can say what they think
Try be something there not when they are out of work
They are very calm and collective at work and my friend is very outgoing and happy when they are with me
At work she is very polite to rude customers to keep her job. With us she complains and says how tired she is. At work she must be professional, outside she can be herself.
They are a lot more extroverted outside work. More willing to have a laugh whereas at work they seem much more professional
My friends are professional at work and a lot more goofy outside of work. Work is not to show an immature side
We tend not to talk or joke much at work, compared to outside of work where we can be loud. We definitely keep talk of going out and drinking alcohol to ourselves.
They are more professional - but they do have colloqual language which still displays our friendhsip
Definiently different behaviour but not completely, when its outside work you can see their whole personality without them needing to hide anything at all.
In my current role, I am not really friends with anyone outside of work; however, in previous roles, my friends would be a lot more relaxed outside of work and would wear more expressive clothing.
They are more professional at work. They show respect to others to be seen as professional. They keep their silly sense of humour outside of work. They draw the line because you have to be professional at the workplace.
More professional and serious at work, more casual and humorous outside
There isnt much difference in the way they behave due to the cultutre surrounding the job i am in
Definitely more restrained and professional at work. We are very chaotic and love to joke around but neither of us show our true self at work. We can have a laugh with our colleagues and obviously make friends with them but we a lot more crazy outside of work because otherwise it feels unprofessional
Due to nature of the business I work for, there is not much difference. Everyone knows each other from outside the work most of their lives and because business is very local, they do not change their attitude between out and inside the work.
At work they're formal and professional, saving their casual slang, dark humor and wild storeis strictly. For the weekends.
Q3What do your friends love most about their jobs, and what do they find hardest to put up with? Tell us about a story one of them told you that stuck with you.49 responses
One of my friends once told me that her manager called her few weeks ago to redo a report she has already submitted just because she used the wrong font format. She was a bit angry about that because she feels something like that should not warrant a total rework of the project. I also belive that most of my friends love the people they work with.
hardest to put up with are the people they have to deal with
My friends like the most pay, job itself and people around. The hardest thing to put up with is not being able to talk, as management have problems when workers are talking. Considering they are still doing their job jobs, I think it's acceptable to have a chat.
He loves the creative freedom and flexible hours, but hates endless pointless meetings. He told me about a time he sat through a 2hrs sync that could've just been a quick Slack message, which really drove him crrazy.
My friend loves the diversity of cases gotten at work. He finds it funny and interesting because of the various dilenmas and problems that plagues the human being on a regular which are brought to the court, including matters considered petty. There was a story about a couple who wanted a divorce because the husband made a decision without the consent of the wife. The hardest to put up with is working really hard and a greater part of bonuse are taken by the superiors.
They love the pay mostly, they hate how old fashioned work places are. Like one of my friends was told to never wear bright colours to work as no one would take her seriously but to me she is a bright colour
My friend loves helping customers and solving their problems, but find the long hours difficult. They once told me about how they were frustrated in the long shift due to rude client
They love the competitiveness of working in sales but they find it hard to keep up the energy required sometimes.
They do not love their jobs they just love making money. One of them told me that if they were not colleagues with the people they work with they would not be friends in any lifetime and having to spend so much of their lives with these people is a mental drain
My friends enjoy learning new skills and working with supportive colleagues, but they dislike heavy workloads and poor management. One friend told me about staying late to finish a task without recognition, which stuck with me because it showed how important appreciation and work-life balance are.
They love the rapport you build with customers everyday and being able to make a difference in people’s lives. But you do get customers who are not very nice and they can ruin your day
The rewarding feeling knowing that they had made a difference, especially since a lot of them work in healthcare. One said hat some wore under anaesthesia for surgery but then never woke up. She found that hard as her favourite part of the job was interacting with the patients and dealing with death is always difficult
I think most of my friends have good line managers that are supportive and nice. Most complain about dealing with older colleagues who are stuck in their ways and refuse to change or improve. One horrible story is a friend who is Indian was having a conversation with a older white man, who was complaining about all the Muslims in his neighbourhood, and then turned to her and said ‘you’re not one of those Lebanese are you’, which is incredibly racist.
They love the work themselves and dealing with customers but find other colleagues difficult and hate the hours they currently work. MY friend once told me she had a shift finish at 11pm and then had not 9 hours later at 8am
All of us love our job and the organisation however the workflow at time can become very hard to manage, and higher up management will try to micromanage and do not understand how much we do. It feels like a lose lose battle
One of my friends enjoys the challenge of her job in sales and the friends that she has made at work. She finds it hard to put up with the lack of praise for her work. For example, she was annoyed that an older male coworker who had reached less targets and had done worse overall than her, was promoted over her.
My friends enjoy the social interaction. They once told me that everyone at work is very friendly but they do not wish to meet them outside since they dont think theyd be able to form a bond with those people.
They like the social interactions with the people they deal with as well as the friendships they have made with their colleagues. One of my friends made a very good friend in their office, so much so that when he left for another job, she did not enjoy working there anymore.
They enjoy making money from their jobs. They are not such a fan of the high workload which can sometimes leave them feeling tired and fatigued. An example would be them getting more and more roles added to their job
good customers, good management. my friend was at first working at bet365 stadium before joining us, after a month or something he was already up in his mind that his last place was a bad place to work in and this one is as it has got good management
I think they like the environment, the colleagues, the way people are down to earth and friendly, not overly stiff. I told my friend about how a senior member of staff had lodged criticism about someone behind closed doors that they didn't make obvious they were doing. My friend was concerned about how even when someone says yes to something like, working from home, secretly, she is being judged for it, which is not what she wants. She doesn't want to be second guessing.
My friends love the autonomy of their work, with the hardest part of their job is coming up with solutions to new and emerging problems.
They love working with their clients, they find the workload to be hardest. One friend shared a story of how a client's wife had just passed away and they were visiting her to deal with the will. It was so soon after the death and she was upset given how upset the family were since it was so fresh.
My friends generally love their coworkers more than anything about the jobs themselves. The hardest things to put up with are always management, micromanaging, unfair treatment and favouritism, workplace politics with senior staff etc. A story that has stuck with me the most is how my friends overtime pay was illegally deducted from his wages in retaliation for taking 2 days off sick. This was in addition to not being paid for those days off.
They find it hardest to put up with the red tape and beuracracy. For example colleagues putting barriers in place where they aren’t needed due to perceptions about roles and responsibilities.
Last week, i visited my friend and she told me she finds it difficult to tolerate one of our senior colleague behaviour at work, she said the senior colleague commands rudely a lot. One thing my friends love about their job is the everyday meals served at the office.
We enjoy that our work makes a difference to people, but the hardest thing is filling in a timesheet at the end of every week. One of my collegues has had several discipliniary meetings with her line manager because of not submitting her timesheet
They like the linear process of their job as they can then become familiar with the process and have little variation to their work
I cannot really think of a story that I was told, however I would say the thing that they love most about their jobs is the money, and the routine as well as interacting with customers. I would say the thing they find hardest to put up with is annoying colleagues and members of the public who are difficult and cause problems.
They love their colleagues most, but struggle with management. They like working with others, but don't like being told what to do, or being micromanaged.
The work itself they love, but they find some of the seniors grating.
A lot of my friends work in healthcare, social care or education (I work in social care) - they love the feeling of doing something meaningful for others but a lot find the pay too low for what they do and the effort they put in
Love most about the jobs would be the social aspect and usually the field or profession that they are in. Usually my firends enjoy the topic of their work most days. The hardest to put up with would be more coorporate policies that are unspoken about. For instance, if there are certain mannerisms at work that no one explains when you join but are expected to know.
We work on a forensic mental health ward so the work is tough. We can take a lot of verbal abuse and being shouted at on a regular basis but the team will always support when they hear commotion. Depending on whether the patient is becoming aggressive towards himself or others they may need to be restrained and medicated which is where the team really pull together to support one another.
One of my friends loves her job because she feels she is making an actual difference but she said it is also quite draining
One is stuck with always travelling with work and not getting as much time as he wants with new born kid he finds it hard
She loves the money that she gets the most and she likes getting the ability to see new people and have more friendships
They like that they get to deal with music everyday as a profession however they struggle sometimes with clients and egos.
They love helping others and improving their quality of work. They find it hard to keep up with the workload.
We love being local and having repetitive work we are comfortable with, although it can be stressful to meet deadlines. The only story i can think of is when the older staff was talking badly about my friend calling her lazy because she was behind in work.
The hardest would be when there is issues with reconcilign payments
What they love is the freedom and the structure of the work and I think the hardest for them is the stubborn/rude customers.
One of my friends is a mental health nurse, and she loves how rewarding it can be, but has also experienced a few horrible things, such as someone committing suicide.
They love interacting with people, but it comes at the cost of rude customers. For example, one of my friends who used to work as barender was whistled at.
They find it hard to put up with instability and uncertainty with future options and if the management are asking for too much, increased workload without promotion or payrise
Nobody loves their jobs, they do it to get paid. Stories they tell me that stick with me would be to do with their personal life
They find it difficult to be stuck in the office doing desk work as they struggle to stay motivated, especially seeing as that work is not their favourite anyway. They enjoy being out with people, chatting to the public and sharing their knowledge. They find talking to people to be a great motivator and it helps pass the time
They love that our work is close to home, with employees being there for decades. It’s not demanding job. The only thing that’s hard for them is the fact that company has been bought by someone from outside and they do not like changes.
They love the good pay but hate micromanagement, a buddy quite instantly. When his boss tracked his mouse clicks.
Q4What do your friends post about work on LinkedIn, and what do they only share on Instagram, TikTok, or elsewhere? Describe a post that stuck with you. If they keep work off social media, tell us why.50 responses
Most of my friends normally posts about lifestyles and work on their social media platforms. A friend of mine recently made a post about over-zealous bosses, which generated different reactions. This particular post stuck with me because it made me realise that a lot of people are experencing the same thing in their work places.
linked in is only for work, like when they change their workplace, instagram is about their private life
My friend don't post about work, they only post about their personal life. They don't want to share about work, as it might start some problems.
On LinkedIn, he only posts formal promotions and certificates. On Instagram, he shares the real side, like a hilarious story about surviving another chaotic Monday. He keeps the 2 totally separate to avoid professional drama.
On Linkedin, my friends post about achievements they have gotten at work, or conferences they attended that they think that would be of interest to their future goals. These posts are at times replicated on Instagram or other socials, but most times, instagram is for interesting things that had happened in their lives or beautiful pictures and the informalities.
i think on linkedin they very rarely post - its outdated now. Insta, they show their trueselves, how they hate to work but love money. They don't mention where they work though. Their instas are fun and funny
My friends post carreer milestone in Linkedin but keep work stories private. One friend shared their promotion and thanked their team.
They don't post on those networks. They tend to keep their work life separate rather than making everything personal.
They do not post about work on social media at all as recently employers are monitoring their private pages or contacting informants
My friend posts career achievements, certificates, and professional milestones on LinkedIn. On Instagram and TikTok, they share funny workplace stories, frustrations, and behind-the-scenes moments. One friend posted about getting a promotion on LinkedIn, and it stood out because it showed how proud they were of their progress.
They don’t really post anything about work on social media as they don’t want to attract negative attention
They post about their freelance work, workshops that they've built, or blogposts about subjects in their relating field. On social media, they do the same and also post more about their daily lives like what they cook and eat, where they go out etc. I can't think of any at the moment for a post that has stuck with me
All my friends keep work off social media, one to probably protect themselves from people online, but also because instragram and tik tok are more about posting about personal highlights.
They do not post about work on their personal social medias to keep that work/life balance in tact. I hear a bit from them on linkeldin about the company
Nothing posted on social media about work I think as a fear of consequences if the company saw it
My friends keep work off of social media as they view it as separate from the fun life they choose to share online. Work is a means to make money rather than an identity they choose to share.
My friends dont really use LinkedIn, but if they did it would be professional only. On social media, they post funny and relatable memes, for example a picture of Gerard Way in a funny outfit the other day.
On instagram my friends share posts about their holidays, days out and nights out. They keep their profiles private however as they want those parts of their life to only be shared with the people they choose. On linkedin they may share posts that others have made but do not create posts of their own.
My friends dont really use linkedin. I think they find it a bit fake
in linkedin they update on skills achieved, job got while in instagram and tiktok they share there daily lives
I've not seen their other social media. I know friends who need to post on linkedin more as part of their job, it's kind of an obligation not for enjoyment. I saw a colleague repost a quote about management which felt like a secret jab at their boss's management style. I don't think anyone posts about work at all on their other socials because it's not necessary to keep long distance ties like that, people see each other every day.
They usually do not have active social media platforms.
I do not know what they post as i personally do not use it.
My self-employed friends are the only ones who post about work on social media, as social media is a key part of running your own business. The posts that have stuck with me the most have been the artworks and marketing posts theyve made as i get to see their creative sides in action and actively benefitting them.
Post about work related events and milestones on LinkedIn and personal life updates on other socials. Work is kept off socials to keep in line with the social media policy.
My friends keeps work off social media because they believe it attracts evil eyes. This is actually because of a true life experience one of us had with showing off her work, pay and all on social media and within 6 months, she was fired for no tangible reason.
Some frinds use LinkedIn to post about work, but no-one used other social media platforms as that is seen as a more personal social media to share things outside of work.
Post accomplishments on linkedin and social stuff on instagram
They do not really post anything about work on social media, probably just to keep work and daily life seperate.
They share about job promotions and what goes well on LinkedIn. If there are any nice lunches or team outings, then they could post it on Instagram, because it's nicer looking.
They tend to post corporate shit on LinkedIn. They don't do this on other SM as its boring. No LinkedIn posts stock with me, they're all vomit inducing.
Most of my friends keep work off social media - either because they don’t want employers to see, or because their job involves members of the public and sharing about it would be a privacy/data protection issue or just inappropriate
I dont have many friends that post about work on social media. The only things related to work would be on linkedin and usually it would be about moving to a new job or a promotion. I feel that most of my friends would keep work related topics off of social media since most of my friends are typically private people.
Mostly things about working on psych wards or reels about types of colleagues or generally funny reels.
None of my friends really post about work as they think work stuff should be kept private from personal life
Nothing at all about work tbh maybe the odd time on the oil rig
My friends do not post anything on linked in I don’t think my friend has it
My friends mostly keep work off LinkedIn. On IG they post funny stuff like work bloopers. My friend posted when she got a job at a local shop, she was so excited. She said she hides serious work stuff because she does not want her boss to see.
They don’t really use social media like that. They are more championing up and coming music artists from the uk.
They just post their role and experience of LinkedIn.
They tend to post their general life and party life on their instagram, but are careful not to give their socials out to colleagues, such as a video on her story when she was drunk and singing. Its different compared to her linkedin which she doesnt post a lot on,but has proffessional content on there.
No they do not - posting on LinkedIn or on osicla media do not tend to use social media for work.
They don't post on LinkedIn and on Instagram, TikTok not a lot but usually just funny videos, mostly of pets.
My friends don't post anything about their work on social media; most of them wouldn't be allowed to. They also don't post much on social media about general life, only a few scenic pictures here and there, or pictures with friends.
They post milestones on linkedin. They share casual photos on instagram. No post stuck with me.
LinkedIn is for seeming professional and bigging yourself up and the other platforms can be a place for more honesty if they are not public accounts
None of them use linked in. On instagram ect it relates to trips they have been on, things they got up to at the weekend ECT
Their LinkedIn is a lot more professional, it’ll depict what they’ve done and what they’ve learnt at work. Whereas social media will see the more goofy, fun side of the job. They are a lot less worried about how their socials are perceived because it’s mainly their friends, whereas LinkedIn is professionals in their desired industry
No one posts anything. The contracts forbid sharing work details on social media because owners don’t like it.
They share promotion on Linkedlin but vent about bad days on provate Instagram's a funny cooperate. Meme stuck out.
